The most talked-about bout in the boxing heavyweight fraternity was the epic trilogy match between Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury which came on at the T-mobile arena in Las Vegas.
The fight which was to come on, on July 24th was postponed to 9th October because Fury tested positive to Covid-19.
Fury came into this bout defending his titles after beating wilder in the last match after drawing the previous one, for fury it was to cement his dominance whilst for wilder it was to redeem himself and the fight didn’t disappoint either.
They both started strong in the first two rounds but Fury was the first to make wilder smell the canvas inside round 3 but wilder bounced back in round 4, making fury smell the canvas twice and that got audiences on the edge of their seats but fortunately or unfortunately it was a fury affair from then on in, fury dominated until landing a final blow to wilder in round 11, it was a fatal blow that the referee Russel Mora had to end the fight and declare fury the winner by knockout.
As it stands now Tyson Fury is the only heavy-weight boxer who hasn’t been defeated yet, winning 31 matches, drawing 1 with 22 knockouts.
So now the question is who will stop Tyson Fury, well many believe it will be Anthony Joshua, well that’s a topic for another day as we await AJ’s return fight with Oleksandr Usyk.
